For my facebook friends 3 bean salad

I got this from a Marjorie Standish cookbook. My Mom gave me two..one fore my birthday in Nov. and the other one for Christmas.

THREE BEAN SALAD make sure to rinse all canned beans to remove the sodium

1 can cut green beans

1 can of yellow wax beans

1 can of red kidney beans

1/2 cup diced green pepper

1/2 cup diced celery

1/2 c. finely chopped onion

DRESSING

2/3 cup vinegar

2/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup of salad oil

1 teaspoon salt- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

mix well until sugar dissolves ...turn dressing over the vegetables then refrigerate, ENJOY~

remember to rinse all canned beans to remove the sodium .

Went to Newburg HC and had a great day. My sons have taken my car to get 4 new tires. Want to be all set....for fall & winter. Finally turned the AC on. Quite warm and humid.I have both boys here with me.

The building where I went to school in the 40's We had a reunion of John A. Cone School former students yesterday. Had a great time and so much fun to see old friends.

After the school it was our Town hall and also police dept. they were in the basement for a long time. So we had sunshine and a wonderful day.

13 years ago tomorrow my husband & I retired to Corinna. He has been gone 3 years but I am still here.

Thought about going back down to my hometown.......but nice friends here and neighbors....made the choice easy.

I will be back in my hometown Tuesday for the John A. Cone School Reunion.

A beautiful sunny day 86 degrees in my part of Maine today.

I got connected with the grandson of an Air Force couple who were our down the hall neighbors.

We lived in Geneva, NY at the time. I was a nervous new Mom with my son Alan.

I woke him up to be sure he was ok. The neighbor down the hall had a toddler and a baby with the colic. She told me to let the baby sleep and that I should relax.

A day of JOY and some sadness as we say good bye to Pastor Grace

I made cookies and went to the party for our Pastor Grace. We will miss her. We really do love her. Wishing her well on her new project.

Tonight I will quilt and watch the RED SOX. Tomorrow after church I will go to the cemetery.

What a beautiful blossom. My nephew sent this to me at christmas time. It bloomed once and now has more buds.....so more blooms are coming.

A week ahead of sunshine and temps mid 70's Love this time of year in Maine.

My apple tree will soon be gone by. Love those blossoms. We have been about 2 weeks ahead of our normal schedule. There are lilac bushes in bloom. Mine is on the north side of the house but is almost ready to burst out with flowers.

My cousin stopped in for a visit today so nice to see him.

Oh well it is still 63 degrees...not bad for an April day. Wednesday will be my grandson's birthday. Now grown and in their 20's . Time sure flies by..........

A cloudy day with Rain

I really miss my husband on dreary Sundays. For some reason I have no Sunday paper.

We used to get away and go to antique shops and eat at different restaurants.

I do so well then it hits me like a huge wave and I miss my husband so much. This will pass and I will be fine.

41 degrees and the furnace is running. We got spoiled with the 60's and 70's Now we are back to normal and it seems COLD. Sunshine coming midweek ! !!......... :)

Home from church and our TRASH & TREASURE sale. Did really quite well. Now bake beans-cole slaw-and I will bake some cornbread.

I took this last year but the yellow finches are BACK. So it is really spring in Maine

Easter Sunday

I spent the day with my sister and her husband and children . It was sunny and 76 degrees . Good food 7 good friends.

When I drove in my yard my daffodils were in bloom...How nice on Easter Sunday

Yesterday I saw 2 robins and Clueless Quilters made quilts

Spring is here..... Our Pastor Grace is leaving to go back to her homeland and start an orphanage in Zimbabwe. We will miss her as she leaves in June.

My favorite quilt.. made for my niece Lori. She died in a house fire 01-09. I think I will make another quilt of this same pattern. I also loved the colors.

March first and we had NO measurable SNOW in February. This is how bare our yard is.......

I am working on this quilt for my friend friend Beth as it snows here in Maine today.

Today we have some snow so it is a good day to quilt.

I have both my boys here with me this week. So nice. Went to the doctor Monday & got my H1N1 flu shot plus the seasonal one. So that is done !

Tonight homemade pizza. Love having both my boys with me.
